Q: When is your next class?

A: Our next Community Works class is set to begin the first week of February, 2022.

Q: Can I still receive unemployment benefits while attending class?

A: YES – Community Works qualifies as a Section 30 Training Opportunity Program, and so trainees can receive unemployment benefits while attending class without having to actively job search.

Q: What days and hours does the class run?

A: The class runs online (due to coronavirus restrictions) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6pm – 8:30pm, and then on Saturdays for hands-on training from 7am to 3:30pm, mirroring the timeframe of a typical construction day.

Q: What happens after I graduate from Community Works?

A: Every graduate of Community Works will receive support in applying for apprenticeships, jobs, and internships in the trades and transportation industry. Some graduates of Community Works who are interested in obtaining their CDL-B receive scholarships and direct entry into the program.
